Here for you.

Customized and reliable mental health care.

Welcome to Sam Rosenfeld Counseling and Therapy. I am a pre-professional counselor working towards a practice that will prioritize your mental health and well-being with client-centered services to meet your needs.

Meet Sam

I am currently a pre-professional student studying counseling at Bradley University. I will be beginning my practicum and internship this coming summer and am looking forwards to meeting with clients to help them achieve their goals.

My background my background is in education, arts, and theatre. I taught high school drama for eight years where I directed and produced over twenty productions and taught seven different courses.

My interpersonal work with students, collaboration with other theatre artists, work navigating problematic systems and institutions, and work in creative mediums inform my current practices and approach to client care.

I live with my wonderful husband and my beautiful and chaotic cats, Sylvia and Suki.

  • Queer/LGBTQIA+

  • Existential thought

  • Humanistic and person-centered

  • External systems examination

  • Identity exploration

  • Narrative therapy

  • Anti-capitalist framework

  • Mindfulness and self-care

My Philosophy

My philosophy is rooted in a collaborative, affirming, and socially conscious approach that honors each person as the expert in their own life. I draw from existential, queer/feminist theories, and art therapy and believe healing involves exploring identity, finding meaning, and building more authentic and empowered lives. I recognize that mental health is shaped not only by our individual experiences but also by the cultural, social, and systemic forces around us. Through empathy, authenticity, creative expression, and a commitment to social justice, I strive to create a space where clients are seen, valued, and supported in navigating life’s complexities on their terms.

Group Proposals

Queer Collective: Intergenerational Queer Community: A Learning, Experiential, and Connection Group

Group Studio: Art from Abuse: Emerging Adults Processing and Navigating Relational Abuse and Toxicity Through Art

Presentations

In many class assignments I have articulated and consolidated ideas, concepts, and thoughts though visual presentations as a part of psychoeducational work - many of which I hope to expand on for future professional development.

Infographics

In my work, communicating complex therapeutic concepts and connecting with clients through clear, impactful infographics and visual materials can be a extremely useful tool.

Expressive Art for Healing

Therapeutic art can give us a voice for what words cannot express. While I am not an art therapist, my background in art can let us use exploration of line, shape, color, space, texture, and subject to help you navigate your emotions and experiences, finding clarity and grounding in the act of creation.

Here you can view some examples of art I have created as part of therapeutic practices.
